Thanos is an awesome villain. Yet, is it right to label him as a villain? I mean, he's more complicated than that. He's could be labeled as an anti-hero... or would that be anti-villain? In any case, he's my favorite Marvel villain.

I'm just disappointed that Marvel cancelled the 5 part comic mini-series "Thanos: Son of Titan" which was suppossed to come out in October 2012. The series would have explored Thanos' origins and show us fans how be came to be who he is. I really wanted to know more of Thanos' life. All I can hope is that Marvel will consider it again in the near future.

He is one of my favorite as well. And he is complex. He is driven by love and power. VERY different that the typical world conqueror.
I am sure they will, my feeling is they want to see where the movie goes and blend that into continuity.

Yes, he's unique. That's what makes him so interesting. You never know what he'll do next... until it's too late!

Perhaps Marvel decided to hold back on the project until the Guardians of the Galaxy live-action film is released in 2014. But at least Thanos is in the Avengers Assemble comic series as the main threat. After all, rumor has it that Thanos will be involved in that film and that it ties with The Avengers 2.

Yeah I am expecting the release to line up with Avenger's 2. Because I heard they 'jumped the gun'. That makes me think they are either going to release to tie into the movie or to make it like the movie version.

I'm thinking more along the lines that Marvel will release it in order to tie in to the GOTG movie. They have no need to make it similar to the live-action films considering that Thanos and the Marvel Universe already have a rich and vast history. What I want to know is what events made Thanos... well, Thanos? What horrors and tragedies did he endure? We know so little of his life on Titan.

All that is mentioned is that he became resentful and angry due to being an outcast on his homeworld. That and he killed his own mother Sui-San... then came back as an adult and conquered Titan, killing millions of Eternal Titans.

Well with Marvel now I believe they are going to move the in comic continuity to tie to the movies. (or at least close) Because they want to use the movies to get new readers. And if things dont look recognizable to the new customer they may lose a sale.
And I too would love to see more about him and his life on Titan.
